Lately...

A few things that have happened in the past few weeks.
Saige turned into a cat. The only kind of cat I like. Cute.
Candace and McKell left for NZ. I can't wait for them to come back.
A late night salmon smoking event. Up until 5 a.m. Was it worth it?
YES!
Captain Jack Sparrow visited Anna and Maren's Elementary school.
The hat seals the deal.

Connie needs....

In the midst of writing Resumes, Cover Letters, filling out Online applications I found something quite entertaining. Write to Google "Your Name Needs" and pick the top ten. Here are mine...
1. Connie needs a bone marrow donor.
2. Connie needs a new home.
3. Connie needs someone who can give her lots of love and attention. She eats thawed frozen rats, likes to hang out...
4. Connie needs to be done.
5. Connie needs a nose. (actually I do, my smell has not been working to great the past 4 years...how did Google know?)
6. Connie needs a hero.
7. Connie needs your vote.
8. Connie needs new shoes.
9. Connie needs a tan.
10. Connie needs to do something productive. (I guess that means it is time to be done!)

So go ahead. Forget your responsibilities for a few minutes and delve into your inner Google self. Find out what you really need.

New Zealand Here She Comes!

So Tomorrow Candace leaves for NZ. I cannot believe that the time has already come and I couldn't be happier for her. On Sunday we held a farewell party in her honor. With good food (crab salad, coconut chicken, roasted kumara and creamed corn and cheese toasties, topped off with coconut cookies....yum)fun games (two versions of NZ trivia and poi balls), and lots of family fun. But unfortunately amidst all the celebrating we did not get many pictures. So here are a few that we captured.

Candace... we are so excited for you to go. But more excited for you to come back and tell us all about the adventure of Student Teaching in another country.

Bon and Jon ready for some New Zealand Trivia

Here she is raking leaves in style. At this point in my blogging career I cannot figure out how to make her stand up right. So she is a laying down raker. Still sassy as ever. I now vow to promise to learn how to blog by the time you get home!

Where does the time go?

WOW! I cannot believe that I only have 3 weeks left of my first block of student teaching. For some this may not seem like a huge feat. But I feel quite accomplished.

Also Ty and I just reached our 6 month anniversary. Cheesy and so predictable. But the time has flown by! And I couldn't ask for a greater 6 months. There has been a lot of change and transition for both of us. But it is so fun to do it together.

Candace is about to leave for New Zealand. I am so excited for her. But she hasn't even asked me if I want to squeeze into her suitcase. I thought for sure she would at least offer. This will be such a great experience for her and I can't wait to hear all about each and everyday when she writes me a lengthy email explaining all the adventures she has been on. I will share with anyone interested.

When I figure out pictures I will be sure to add some of the best. If anyone wants to train you I will pay you in cinnamon lips...
